Celebrating 23 Years!

I remember the night as if it were yesterday, It was March 31st, 1996, and we were about to take over the restaurant. It was on a sunday, and my mom and dad were estatic. We had never owned a business before, nevertheless a restaurant, but I knew my mom could do it, and I’d like to think I was an integral part in pushing her to do so.

My father went into the walk in refrigerator and when the clock struck midnight, he grabbed whatever was in there, and there wasnt much. But he made some FETA AND OLIVES and some pita bread. It was the best meal I ever had.

23 years later, and while both of them have passed, I’d like to think that in a small way, we’ve been able to continue the warmth and love that my mom carried with her throughout her life. She always had a smile on her face, and even when things were tough, she never quit, never gave up and I hope somewhere, somehow, they are watching and smiling down on us.

My sister, Sarah, while I hate to admit, we do not always agree on many things, I think we both agree that if you just treat everyone like family and you care about everyone’s experience and want them to remember their time here, then we can’t go wrong. While I don’t say it enough, I am very grateful to her for everything she does.

Vasili is like a brother to me and he has always cared so much for this place, that it truly is remarkable, just a kind and generous man. He’s been here since day one and I’d do anything for him

Nick what can you say about someone that works so hard? We are truly lucky to have him.

Jaime as well, he always comes in when asked. In fact everyone here that works at Christakis, we love like family and we hope that it resonates to you the Patron, no, you the friend that walks through our doors. Elizabeth and Esmeralda, truly amazing thank you.

Mauer for his hard work on our fantastic wine dinners, because of him we had Reggie Narato, A MASTER SOMM at our restaurant last summer, and so on and so on, our gratitude to all of our staff is beyond recogonition.

We’ve had so many amazing people walk through those doors, and have been lucky to call them friends. From baptisms to wedding rehearsals, memorials to birthdays, I like to think that when you walk into Christakis, you can feel the love started so many years ago.

And so we hope for many more years to all of our beloved patrons, friends and family that we’ve been blessed to serve.

Please enjoy an order of FETA AND OLIVES on your next visit in April:) Our gift of appreciation to you!*

We will also be having some wonderful specials as well as a Special Dessert from our awesome and talented Pastry Chef Maria, so please ask your server when you are here about them this weekend.
